Arya 900 Local Assistant is a Windows app that lets you chat with an AI that runs on your own computer. You do not need to send everyday conversations to a cloud company to get answers. Once you install it and add a local model file, you can type questions and get replies while your words stay on your PC.

Chat without sending your words to the cloud

The main thing people use Arya 900 for is simple conversation. You open the app, load a local model (a GGUF file that fits your machine), and start typing. You can ask it to explain something, rewrite a paragraph, brainstorm ideas, or help you draft a short message. For Free personal light use, that chat is designed to stay on your device—so notes about work, family, school, or private projects do not have to leave your hard drive just to get help from an AI.

That matters if you are on a laptop in a café, on a train with weak Wi‑Fi, or on a work PC where you prefer not to paste sensitive text into a website. Arya 900 is built for those moments: open the app, talk to the model, close it, and your chats live in your Windows user data—not in someone else’s online account.

Everyday writing and thinking help

You do not need to be a developer to get value from it. Typical uses look like normal desk work:

  • Draft and polish text. Start with a rough email, note, or outline and ask the assistant to make it clearer, shorter, or more polite.
  • Explain things in plain language. Paste a confusing paragraph from a document or a topic you are learning and ask for a simple explanation.
  • Brainstorm without an audience. List ideas for a presentation, a trip, a hobby project, or a problem you are stuck on—privately, on your machine.
  • Practice another language. Switch the app interface language (including Romanian and English) and use the chat to practice phrasing or check wording.
  • Work offline. After the model is on your disk, you can keep chatting when the network is poor or unavailable. That is the point of “local” AI: help that does not depend on a constant internet connection for Free chat.

Models that fit your PC

Arya 900 does not force one giant online model. You choose a local GGUF model that matches your hardware. Smaller models run on modest PCs; larger ones need more RAM or an NVIDIA GPU if you have one. The Free installer is for Windows 10/11 x64. As a rule of thumb, plan for enough free disk space for the app plus your models, and at least 8 GB of RAM (16 GB or more is more comfortable for bigger models).

You stay in control: pick the model, load it when you need it, and release it when you want to free memory. That is more hands-on than a website chatbot, but it is also why your chats can stay private and why the app can work offline.

Who it is for

Arya 900 is a good fit if you want AI help that feels like a normal desktop program, you care about keeping Free chats on your machine, and you are willing to install a model file once so the app can run without depending on a hosted AI API for everyday talk. It is less ideal if you only want a browser tab with no setup, or if you need Pro Knowledge tools before they are available.

In short: install Free on Windows, add a local model, and use Arya 900 to draft, explain, brainstorm, and chat—in your language, on your PC, with privacy designed for normal people who do not want every casual conversation to leave the house.

How to use Arya 900 on your PC — pick a topic, follow the steps.

Models

Download a catalog model, load one already on this PC, or pick another .gguf file. Release frees GPU memory when you switch.

  1. Open Models from the model name in the top bar.
  2. In Catalog, download a model that fits your VRAM — or use On this PC.
  3. Click Load. Oversized models show a warning first.
  4. Optional: Choose another .gguf file… to browse locally.
  5. Use Release model before loading a different one if memory is tight.

  1. Load a model first (see Models).
  2. Open or start a chat from the top actions.
  3. Type in the composer and send.
  4. Wait for the local reply — no cloud AI API for Free chats.

Sessions

Keep separate conversations with Open, New, and Sessions — without leaving the desktop app.

  1. Click New for a fresh conversation.
  2. Use Sessions to browse or switch past chats.
  3. Use Open when you need to open an existing session file or entry from the list.

Match the app UI to your language and choose Arya Light or Arya Dark. Legal documents stay English and Romanian.

  1. Open Settings (gear).
  2. Open Appearance (or Language).
  3. Pick your UI language.
  4. Set theme to Arya Light or Arya Dark.

Knowledge base

Folder-grounded file tools use the Knowledge icon. On Free, this path is shown as Pro / coming later.

  1. Find the Knowledge base controls in the header (folder / related icons).
  2. On Free, follow the in-app note that Knowledge unlocks with Pro.
  3. When Pro ships, point Knowledge at a folder for file-grounded workflows.

Tune the assistant beyond chat — appearance, knowledge notes, and license info live under Settings.

  1. Click the gear to open Settings.
  2. Review Appearance, Knowledge, and License sections as needed.
  3. Close Settings to return to chat.

Is Arya 900 open source?

No. The product is proprietary. This site publishes downloads and legal text only.

What Free gives you today—and what comes later

Free is for personal, non-commercial light use under the EULA. You get the Windows desktop app and local GGUF chat. Legal documents are available in English and Romanian so you can read the terms in a language you understand.

Pro and Business are planned unlocks for later. Pro is aimed at Knowledge folder and file tools—workflows grounded in folders on your PC. Business is aimed at organizations and project-style use. Those paid capabilities are not the Free experience; Free is “chat with a local model on your Windows PC,” not a full cloud office suite.

The Free build you download from GitHub Releases is Free-only (it does not turn into Pro inside that installer). When Pro ships publicly, there will be a Pro-capable path. Today’s Free installers may also be unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen can warn you—that is expected until a signed build is published.

Is Free really free?

Free is for personal, non-commercial light use under the EULA.

Why does Windows warn me?

The current Free installer is not code-signed. SmartScreen may warn until a signed build ships.

Can I activate Pro in the Free installer?

No. The Free build is Free-only. A Pro-capable installer comes when Pro goes public.

Do my chats leave my PC?

For normal Free use, chat is designed to stay on-device. See the Privacy notice.
